We do not collect a deposit when you first schedule, however, a deposit is due if you need to reschedule your session for any reason. This deposit is non-refundable and is required to set a new appointment date. The amount will be applied to your session fee unless you cancel again, in which case, it will be forfeit and a new deposit will be due to hold another date.
A deposit is not due if we need to reschedule you. Reasons we may need to reschedule you include:
1) Bad weather. As Outkast said, you can plan a pretty picnic but you can’t predict the weather. We shoot in natural light so rain and/or dark clouds are problematic. We know it’s a pain, but we want to ensure you have the best shoot possible.
2) Auditions/Bookings. If an audition or booking comes up on our end we will try hard to work around it, but if we can’t then we’ll work with your schedule to get you back in as soon as possible. If you’ve paid a deposit it will still be applied to the new date or we will refund you if you do not wish to be rescheduled.
3) Illness. If we get sick but can still shoot, we’ll warn you and leave the decision to you. If you get sick, don’t take your headshots. Your photos won’t be good. They just won’t be good at all.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, let us know with as much notice as possible so we can try to get your appointment covered by another client. The deposit amount due will depend on how much notice you give us: more than 72 hours requires a $50 non-refundable deposit, less than 72 hours requires 50% of your session fee. Again, this deposit is applied to your new shoot date and is only forfeit if you need to reschedule a second time.
We understand that auditions come up last minute, but we recommend that you treat your session with as much respect as you would an audition or booking and book out for the day of your appointment. We reserve the right to refuse rescheduling if you are a no-show or if you reschedule multiple times.

No deposit is required to hold a date. A deposit will be due if you need to reschedule your originally scheduled session (see the Reschedule Policy above).
Yes, you need to wear makeup. Unless you’re going for a really raw look, you’ll want to wear a little more makeup than you usually wear for an audition. Guys, you will need at minimum anti-shine powder.
We do not provide full service makeup artistry, but we do provide very basic foundation/powder application most suitable for our male clients, but available to everyone. We highly recommend hiring a hair and makeup artist if you are not totally confident in your own hair and makeup skills or if you just prefer to sit back and relax while someone else does the work. We have a list of really awesome HMUAs that we can send upon request, but you are also welcome to hire anyone you already know and love.
Please note that you must arrange a pre-shoot appointment with your HMUA for 1 hour, Returning Client, and Editorial sessions so that you can arrive to the shoot camera-ready.
We are located in Los Feliz. The exact address and parking information will be provided to you via text a day or two before your scheduled appointment.
Studio session start times are between the hours of 10am and 2pm in Fall/Winter and 11am and 3pm in Spring/Summer. Editorial sessions take place approximately 90 minutes before sunset or in the early morning hours, depending on location.
The length of the shoot depends on how much time you book. If you book two hours but don’t use the entire time, you are still responsible for the time booked. If you decide on the day that you need more time, we will be happy to accommodate you if our schedule allows.
Wardrobe is so important! Never leave it to the last minute to figure out. Allison is more than happy to consult on your wardrobe via email before your session or on the day. You can send selfies or pics of your wardrobe choices along with a list of the looks you want to achieve and she’ll get back to you with input. If you’re repped, always check with your agent/manager as they may have very specific requests. And if you need some more hands-on help, a stylist (like Tandem client Buckley Sampson) will take you shopping and help you devise a solid plan. Whatever input you get, just be sure to narrow down your choices to a reasonable, easy to schlep number before your shoot date.
Both of us are actors, so we speak your language. Allison has a background in filmmaking, has experience directing for film, and has worked with actors for years. She will guide you using energy work, scenarios, physicality, etc. She will communicate with you as she shoots and will not just let you wonder if you’re doing things right. But there’s always room for you to try things and get silly too.
For the studio sessions we work out of our home studio, so we have plenty of space for you to spread out and you can take over the bathroom. We make no guarantees about facilities for the Editorial Session however, so you will want to plan accordingly.
About a week after your session, we’ll send over a link to view your online gallery (via Reproductions). You can download low resolution images directly from this online gallery. However, we do not recommend using these low res images professionally. When we send the link to your online gallery, we’ll also include another link to your high res images via Google Drive.
Your Reproductions gallery will be available to you for 3 months for free. If you need to have it reactivated, they can do this for a fee. You can also download high res images directly from Reproductions for a fee. You may need to check with Reproductions if you’re trying to access a session more than one year after your shoot.

Additional retouching (beyond what is included in your session) is $15 per image. The turnaround is usually 5-7 business days but ultimately depends on our workload at the time you order.
The fee for non-Tandem photo retouching is usually $20 per image, but ultimately depends on the quality of the photo we are working with and the amount of work that is required. You can email it over for a quote.

You can do an Editorial and Studio Session in one day. It can make for a long day for you, but we’re up for it if you are! We’ll even throw in a little discount if you schedule both at the same time.
